Bio
Hailey joined Cleveland Clinic Innovations in 2024 as an Engagement Partner. Hailey is a registered nurse and began her clinical career at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. As an inpatient nurse, Hailey worked on a medical-surgical and cardiology step-down unit (J83), caring for a diverse population of patients, including cardiovascular, transplant, orthopedic, and colorectal. Her experience also includes outpatient care in dermatology, where she worked closely with providers performing Mohs micrographic surgery and provided patient care in other dermatology surgeries, procedures, and consultations. Prior to re-joining the Cleveland Clinic in 2024, Hailey worked in MedTech consulting focusing on market access and reimbursement strategy, providing support to industry clients as they prepare to launch new healthcare products and get them into the hands of providers and patients who need them.
Hailey received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University.

Before joining Innovations, Matt worked as a Market Research Associate at Cleveland Research Company, specializing in equity and market research for the Life Science Tools and Diagnostics industry. Matt has held various roles in industry and academic settings, including supporting antibody R&D at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and conducting epigenetic research at Rockefeller University.
Matt has an MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Georgetown University and a BS in Biology from the University of Michigan.

Colleen Hyman joined Innovations in October 2021 as part of the Innovations Engagement team partnering with Cleveland Clinic leaders, administrators, physicians, nurses, researchers, and other stakeholders within the various Cleveland Clinic institutes to generate high-quality invention disclosures for new medical products.
Prior to joining the team, she worked as a Product Marketing Manager for various industries including home healthcare, dental, and combination medical devices. Most recently, Colleen worked with Avery Dennison Corporation’s medical division, helping bring to market an innovative antimicrobial adhesive technology for use in wound care dressing applications and surgical incise drapes.
Colleen earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Cleveland State University and her Master’s degree in Engineering Management with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

Michelle joined Cleveland Clinic in April 2022 as part of the Innovations Engagement team, where she is partnering with Cleveland Clinic leadership, caregivers and other stakeholders to work on innovations in the digital health and health information technology space. Prior to her joining Cleveland Clinic, she spent nearly three years as an internal management consultant at the Mayo Clinic with their Strategy Department, where she specialized in Digital Health and Telehealth. She has experience in new technology integration, value assessment, product design, process design and improvement. Her work included developing digital clinical activation workflows for acute telemedicine services for the Mayo Clinic Enterprise. She has also co-authored a presentation and publication on staffing and rapid scaling of Video Visits during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Michelle earned her BS in Public Health from the SUNY University at Albany and her MPH from Emory University with a concentration in Health Policy and Management. Additionally, she holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP).

Before joining Cleveland Clinic Innovations in June 2023, Dr. Dombrowski enjoyed a successful research career with 20+ years serving as Co-Director, Pediatric and Congenital Neurosurgery (2004-2013) and Pediatric Neurosurgical Oncology (2013-2018) conducting basic science, clinical and translational research in neurology/neurosurgery. During that time he secured more than $8M research funding, authored three book chapters and more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, presented over 60 times in US and internationally platforms, and mentored >50 medical, undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr. Dombrowski is co-inventor of an implantable neurological medical device to increase cerebral blood flow and co-founded a Cleveland Clinic start-up company (CSF Therapeutics, Inc). In addition, he co-founder Northeast Ohio Hydrocephalus Support Group (NOHSG), a 501c3 non-profit organization to support patients and families with hydrocephalus, and is founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Advanced Neuro Strategies, LLC.
Dr. Dombrowski received his Ph.D. from Boston University School of Medicine (1999) and completed his post-doctoral research training in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery (1999-2000) and Pediatric and Congenital Neurosurgery (2001) at Cleveland Clinic.

Bio
Dr. Perez-Villa joined Innovations in November 2021 as part of the Engagement team. He is the Engagement Partner for the Florida region where he is responsible for driving awareness of Cleveland Clinic’s culture of innovation and developing meaningful connections with Cleveland Clinic’s network of current and future inventors.
Prior to joining the team, he was a Research Associate at the Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute in Cleveland Clinic Florida where he led the deployment of the Outcomes Management and Evaluation system to collect patient-reported outcome measures in a highly structured and consistent manner before and after treatments.
Dr. Perez-Villa completed his MD at the National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina and then received training as a cardiologist at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, Spain. After finishing his residency, he worked in a country hospital, helping build the heart failure unit from scratch and developed a mobile application to improve the quality of care for heart failure patients. He served as the CSO of Wellian Inc., a digital health start-up based in Boulder, CO USA from 2018 to 2020. He holds an MSc in health economics, outcomes and management from the London School of Economics and a fellowship in healthcare innovation at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

Nicole began working at the Cleveland Clinic after receiving her Chemical Engineering degree from Lehigh University. She has an extensive background in both engineering and research, with more than 25 years of hands-on laboratory, operating room, and project management experience starting at Penn State Medical Center in 1998. She held a director role at a California startup focused on verification in preparation for first-in-human approval, where she managed multiple cost centers, contract execution and communication with collaborators, consultants, and vendors. Nicole also took place in the 2020 i-CORPS program as an entrepreneurial lead.
Nicole spent the majority of her career on cardiac assist and replacement devices and has held additional research positions in orthopedics and pre-clinical imaging (MRI, CT and PET). She has been involved at all levels of development, from early engineering investigations through creation of the final product, preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, and management of off-site experiments, budgets and timelines. In her spare time, you'll find Nicole spending time with friends and family & enjoying the fresh air on lengthy walks. She spent more than 10 years teaching music-based group fitness classes and is anxious to get back to the dance floor.
As part of the Innovations engagement team, Nicole will use her talents as both liaison and translator, as well as her communication, management, and engineering skills, to help others find a pathway for their own development.

Morgan joined Cleveland Clinic Innovations with a background in both biomedical research and innovation consulting. She completed her B.S. in neuroscience from Baldwin Wallace University and earned her doctorate in neuroscience from Boston College in 2019. Morgan conducted postdoctoral training here in LRI, and her research leveraged advanced optical engineering techniques to identify and prevent aberrant brain changes that cause temporal lobe epilepsy. For her research, Morgan was named a graduate fellow of the National Science Foundation and awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the NIH.
Most recently, Morgan has been working as a consultant at Newry Corporation, an innovation and product strategy consulting firm that works with R&D leadership from materials science, advanced chemical, and life science companies to commercialize novel scientific and engineering advancements. As part of the Innovations engagement team, Morgan will bring her scientific education paired with consulting work to help drive ideas from bench to bedside.
